My girlfriend has already introduced me to her family (after months of skirting the issue and sneaking off secretly and lying). At first her parents were pissed. But she told them how much she loves me and how happy I make her. Her parents know her story and what happened with former boyfriends. And they saw she was happy with me. That I'm a gentleman, not like her ex-boyfriends. They said I wasn't abusive and that they could see the changes in her (she used to be depressed). Now they're proud of me.

Why can't I do the same though? It's not that I'm not proud of her--I am! It's just...I dunno. I haven't even told my big sister and baby sister who are like my best friends. I know they wouldn't rat on me, but still! And I don't want my parents to know!
Why can't I do what she just did? I still lie about it, skirt the issue, sneak off like it's a Romeo and Juliet thing.....
