If you breastfed your baby when (if at all) did you introduce a dummy/paci?

I never gave either of my children a pacifier, nor will I give one to any future children. I'm a SAHM and I breastfeed. I don't pump or use bottles at all. I don't leave my kids with anyone else for more than an hour until they are eating solids and drinking whole milk (after 1 year). If they need to comfort suck, they can nurse. No need for anything else.

i never gave my lil girl a paci cuz once they are on it it's gonna be a lot harder to get them off. Just keep that in mind.

My son didn't take one, not that we tried that hard to get him to- we only tried because the MIL was harping on about him becoming a thumb sucker if he didn't have one.
He's now two and has never sucked his thumb.

My daughter was given one from three weeks of age, she took it happily until she figured out that food didn't come out of it then rejected it point blank. She's combined breast and bottle fed and never had nipple confusion.

Pacifiers don't interfere with feeding and infants don't need pacifiers only when the baby is a preemie.

I breastfeed my daughter and we introduced a dummy from about 3 weeks old. It did not interfer at all, but it sure helped soothe her!

my babies have had a pacifier occassionally from birth, and it did not interfere with breastfeeding....BUT, it def CAN interfere if parents are relying on it too much....it just drives me insane when i have had friends who are all whining about breastfeeding problems and then i go visit them and baby has a pacifier in their face for hours at a time......even when I told said parents to allow baby to pacify on the breast and they don't listen.
