This is my first post to the IHM forum.
I haverecently started doing the VTCT Diploma in Indian Head Massage. I have performed 2 full treatments on clients now. After both of these treatments, I felt very emotional to the extent that I was in tears pretty much all evening. I had no reason to be upset. I even started to feel really insecure.
The course is an intensive course, so I was working on each client for 4 hours on and off each day, which probably didn't help. I know with IHM you are working with energies and that the treatments possibly drained my energy or I took on negative energy from the client.
In the past, I have learnt how to ground and protect myself but this takes me about 5-15 minutes as I do not do it very often. Grounding & Protecting yourself at college before a treatment is very difficult, and as such I did not do this before the treatments.
Do any of you ground/protect yourself before a treatment and what methods do you use that are quick and effective? Have any of you experienced feelings like this after a treatment?
Any advice/feedback would be great
