I'm a massage therapist. How do I tell someone that I don't want to see them anymore?

There is a patient that I've seen for a few visits but I no longer wish to see. I find him to be a little creepy and I've heard rumors that he'll ask for a "happy ending". He's an older man and I'm not comfortable being in the same room with him. He hasn't asked anything of me, except if he can be naked and we can do the massage without a cover. I have allowed him to be naked (as most patients are) but I refuse to do it without being covered up. How can I break it to him that I don't want to see him anymore? I plan to call directly to him voicemail and leave him a message. He calls me about two times a day and has for the past week.. it's getting really bad and I'm afraid he's just going to show up to my office. Please help!

Sounds like Phoebe's problem on Friends.

Talk to your colleagues about it, telling them what he's like and how you feel uncomfortable with him as your client. If you're doing your own business, simply tell him you can't see him anymore for business reasons... Make something up if you can't tell him straight that you find it uncomfortable. Don't let your emotions take over, just stay professional. Maybe get him assigned to someone else, like a scary germanified butch woman. He's better off somewhere else.

You really don't need to give a client any reason to refuse them service, the fact that you don't like them is enough. All you have to do is to tell him that you can no long be of service to him.

I would be up front and honest. Don't show signs that you are weak or meek or don't know what your talking about or what ever. Predators pray on the weak. Tell him how you feel about him this and that. Tell him that it makes you feel to uncomfortable or what how ever you want to express it. Women always think that guys can read womens minds and understand what they mean or are trying to say. This is not true so make sure you make your expectations clear. So be quite frank with him about it. Show him that you are in charge of the situation by your demeanor body language and tone of voice. Don't dress in anyway that would make him see you as a target or a sex figure. At the same time don't be a jerk. This is just my point of view. This is a young mans perspective on how to deal with it. If he turns out to be a stalker I would look into how to deal with stalkers. Hopefully that will help.

call social services or talk to your boss...keep in mind you're in a room all alone with this guy..be smart and prevent anything before it even has a chance to happen.
