Im introducing a new cat today... what is the best way...?

Hey, I have a 12week old male kitten, I'm rehoming a cat today. The cat is one year old and a female. The owner is bringing it around later but what is the best way? Should I let the new cat have a wee sniff around first or should I put them both together straight away? I just don't want to start on the wrong note so want to know the best way... Cheers

since both cats are from different litters you will need to make sure one or both are neutered otherwise you might get a bigger family that you do not want,try to encourage both cats to mix and possibley have a litter tray for a short while or invest in a cat lead which comes with a harness and walk your new cat around the garden,

First, put the other cat into an enclosed room where it can't get out. Then let the other cat sniff about a bit. It will probably smell the other cat's scent. Then introduce the 2 of them, let them do their own thing...

let the new cat get to know your place for a while before you introduce your other cat. Beware the probably will not get along at first and may even fight a little. Eventually they will be OK.

Let the new cat sniff around the house first. It will probably smell the other cats scent so it can get used to it. Then bring the other cat in and watch over them as there might be some fighting. Most cats are fine and they might just hiss a little. Only separate them if they are literally rolling around hissing and biting each other. They should get along just fine! Good luck

Put current cat in closed space and let new cat sniff around for an hour or so but not longer so that it knows thr house belongs to current cat. Hope new cat is fixed. Good luck!
