I'm raising my rates and you can't stop me!!

lol, ok so obviously I'm very determined from the get go as I'm trying to make sure I don't chicken out Posting it here will keep me accountable!
I'm posting it today, and the increase takes effect August 1. Hopefully that's enough notice for people, but honestly, I'm booked up enough that it won't be painful if some people leave. But I don't think they will.
It's been helpful reading other's threads about rate increases and how it turned out fabulously - so thank you to everyone for posting those kinds of encouraging things and giving me the support to do the same
I'm also getting rid of some special "punchcards" for certain people. That might be not as smooth of a transition, but man it's so time to end that. So I am - YaH Me!

Congratulations, Stonegirl! I think August 1st is plenty of time. When I raised my rates recently, I gave 2 months notice & it was too long. My clients read the notice about the increase, but only noticed the effective date being the first of the month. After just one month passed, they were ready to pay the new rates & were surprised it was one more month until the rate increase was official.

BTW, by how much are you increasing your rates?

$10 increase for swedish
$5 increase for specialties (I'm already on the high end with those)
and the exciting part - no more punchcards woohoo!!!
