Pad so in your opinion it was perfectly okay for the farang to aggresively push him? irrespective of any circmstances, so in your words, he is working where customers go, so they can abuse, push or maybe even hit him and its okay? I accept gone too far with examples, but how far is too far? who makes that decision?

The toilet masseur was harrassing him? or trying to do his job?

He assaulted him? or reacted after being aggresively attacked by the farang?

No need to answer, I really do not care either way, just interested that different people see different aspects to this scenario.

Ultimately it's down to the managers / owners of these clubs if they want "sales" people molesting their customers in the loos.

I don't like it (sober) but I'm normally drunk when there, so don't care.

I think the guy is out of order and That Dodge is living in some fantasy defend everything mindset (while seemingly oblivious to being sued, cheated, etc) but fair play hes positive about life and always seems to be bouncing because of it. But no one was there, no one will really know if he waved him away, gently brushed him off, of gave it a 'come on you caaahhhnnnt' shove..

So it will forever be a draw.

I have always felt uncomfortable with the Thai guys in Tiger disco when I go into the bathroom...feels like extortion when they gave me a bad look when I did not give them a tip or when I refused the services...likewise in Hollywood... or I think that is what the place was called...

It was definitely out of order. But not entirely unexpected, if you know anything about the finer points of Thai culture. Sorry that it took a busted nose for the poor bastard to learn that shoving is just not done without the possiblity of a dire consequence.

Nightclubs are there to make money as are all those associated with them, including the toilet massage guys, who are just one or two steps above the bar touts on the street. If the massage guy isn't busy bothering you in the toilet, maybe he will still pester you outside the bar or on the street.

The Thailand variety of nightclubs and bars have some unique and generally positive aspects that make them much more attractive to tourists who would not usually frequent such places at home, because the high probability of personal violence occurring there is one of the main reasons.

One of the unique features of Thai nightlife is the high degree of personal service to customers every whim and this sometimes amounts to unwanted attention.
Removing all the unique aspects of Thai nightlife runs the risk of making it boring and the same as back home which will still satisfy only some of the punters.

In Thailand, you gotta play by their rules.

Its all about the bath. But when somebody say NO you got to listen. Thai, Indian, African, Swedish or whatever. No is No. Tuk Tuk drivers understand the word No and most Thaipeople in the shops understand No. Indian suitsellers dont understand the word No. And the massge man in the toilet in Tiger dont understand the word NO.

If you want to be polite you can say No thank you!

Same with the bars that have girls that dont understand No. People start walking around that bar because it is not fun to walk close to them if you dont want to sit down.

This is not about thaiculture this is about bath.

Sef go back a read my posts, I've agreed with your points, I've said the guy is in the wrong, the employers are right to sack him, I'm not living in any make believe fantasy defend everything, I'm living in the real world, and you will note I've also posted this would happen anywhere in the world not just Thailand, but even more likely if farang/Thai and here.

You lay a hand on another guy, especially if he is Thai, expect a right hander, full stop. Do not defend the instigator of this sitation, he simply needed to say no or walk away. I've been in this situation a hundred times, I've never resorted to physical violence nor has the massage guy felt a need to retaliate violently towards me.

It surely cannot be glossed over that the guy pushed the massage man, the massage man did nothing aggresive towards him, he just did his job, annoying -yes, blame the employer for putting him their, blame them for instructing the guy to be insistent to get better tips, even blame them for not training him well enough or supervising him to ensure this does not happen.

But you act physically to another guy expect something back, fullstop. Heh I've posted this statement already as well!!!

I dont mean just in relation to this case.. And even if that sounded like a knock.. its just your attitude.. You maintain a positive attitude (I would say in spite of the facts) through everything.. But by doing so your happier and keen to do new biz etc.. Its a good thing if you want it to be.. I would call it a case of purposeful positive self delusion (is that nicer that fantasy land ??).

Comes back the entrepreneur attitude thread also..
