Hi Penelope
My english geography south of the Cotswolds isn't great, but the course I did was in Gerrards Cross in Bucks.
I did it with Alternative Therapies (see [link=http://www.therapies.com]www.therapies.com[/link]). They run one weekend workshopwhere you learn about the history, contraindications, etc plus the actual physical treatment. If you don't have anatomy and physiology, they then do an internet correspondance course for that, which is what I have done. Finally, there is a practical exam. As I currently have a full time day job, I didn't feel I could commit to an ITEC course. I think the ITEC courses may offer more in the way of business info, but I am happy with the course I have done and it fitted inwith my situation. The tutor, Patrick, has a background in teaching ITEC courses, so it is not just anyone teaching it. I have just had a quick look at the site and he seems to have removed his background information, but he is quite approachable and has a lovely french accent!
I think I saw on another thread that someone wasn't overly happy with the Gateway workshops?? I had considered those as well.
All I can say is that I have experienced 3 different IHM treatments and the one I learnt is my favourite, but I don't know of anyone local to me who does the same one!
Good luck in your search,
Florence
