Hi, Im new here although I have been on as a guest to look through the questions and answers for certain topics.
Right I must get to the point and hopefully someone will help me with an answer.
I am learning IHM at college and during one of the evenings I took my case study in for treatment. This would have been his 4th one. Up to then no problems have arisen and the headaches and tension he'd been having were nearly gone.
I was only doing a 25 min session. This was going well until near the end. I felt he was falling asleep. His body had started to become clammy and his body was jerking slightly. I checked whether he was going to fall forward and that he was ok. I noticed his eyes were open(very blank look) I spoke to him quietly and he seemed to 'wake up'.
He said although he was aware of feeling sweaty and feeling lightheaded, he felt ok and very relaxed.
Obviously I was very concerned what was happening. While I left him to get dressed at his leisure and gave him his water I spoke to the Lecturer. The only explanation she could give was that he was in a meditated state and to keep an eye on him and for the next treatment only give a gentler massage.
The only other observation she gave was he was recovering from a cold he had 2 weeks earlier.
I have given him another massage since and every thing was fine. But.............. I cant help but wonder what had happened. Is the lecturer right and he was in a meditated state, was the cold the problem or can anybody shed some light on to what was happening.
I have a very strong connection with the client. we are very intune.
Hope someone can help.
