Insurance for treatment tools?

I have been using the same table for a while now, and as I am hearing it creak more and more under the weight of my clientel, I was thinking about what happens when I have to replace it? Then I started thinking about the other products I use in my practice that are mechanical, or have electrical elements in them that could go bad, and what happens when I need to replace them?
I have insurance, Professional Liabiality insurance. But it doesn't (I dont think it does anyway) cover the tools that I use every day.
I think if I added up everything I use, I would have over 2,100.00 in equipment. I would not know what to do if multiple items gave out on me at once, let alone one of them.

I am wondering if any of you have policies on your equipment??? Or is there even such a thing for MT's? Would it be worth paying a premium per month or year, or would it be better just to pay out as it happens?

ABMP has a policy that i have - can't remember the name of it now. i think it's an extra$99 or something. it covers my equipment up to $10k on/off premises. And since i own all of the equipment in our practice, it covers it all.

I believe most policies won't cover normal wear and tear. What type of warantee do you have on the table or other equipment? What is their age?

Something you might want to consider is putting a small perceneforum.xxxe in a savings account a month to cover equipment replacement or rainy day expenses.

Well,
all but a few of my tools are "used." So I didn't get a manufactur warantee with them.
That's true about a policy not covering normal wear and tear. I forgot about that...
Thanks for the idea Talenyn, I only wish I had the dicipline to put money away. :roll: I should try though now that i have my own practice. I am going to have to figure out the tax thing soon also :shock: :shock: :shock:
