insurance & membership

hi,
Having recently studied for a year and finally qualified as a Practitioner with the Bayley School of Reflexology I'm frustrated with the fact that some organisations won't recognise the qualification. I'm already a member of FHT since I also practise massage so would prefer not have to pay twice for insurance etc..

So just wondered if there are any other practitioners out there who have gone through similar and have found a solution..

Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

i'm assuming bayley school doesnt have their own form of insurance for those qualifying? or will they not insure your massage qual? and why dont FHT recognise bayley... after all, from what i understand it was doreen bayley that brought reflexology to the UK after studying with eunice ingham?

so to conclude... these fat cat regulating bodies who offer insurance quite discriminately, imo, should be bought down a peg or two!!

have a look at professional beauty direct... very reasonable, comprehensive enough and will recognise most qualifications.

no you wont have membership to a "body", but does that carry any clout anyway? i dont think so!

Maybe a timely warning to those thinking of doing a new qualification. Always check that you can get insurance before undertaking the course.

I have my insurance through FHT for Reflexology, they are represented on the CAM forum.

If you have qualified with AOR you can get insurance from them and the same with BRA and so on. There seems to be alot of we are better than you and so on. However, I have a diploma with VTCT and I'm doing an Advanced Reflexology Diploma course again with VTCT.

When I get that qualification I'll still be insured through FHT although I shall get the advanced therapist insurance.
