Intensive Reflexology course suggestions wanted!

Hi I'm looking for a 6 month intensive reflexology course in and around the Aldershot area, part time evenings only. Can anyone here suggest any courses as I'm having trouble finding one suitable.

Hi there Delaney and grubfaerie. I haven't heard of any 6 month reflexology courses, I have to say. I think the reason they last 9 months or so is because of the sheer volume of stuff you are having to take in, experience you are having to gain, and of course the mammoth task that is doing case studies. Schools such as the one where I trained give you the option to attend at weekends or during evenings. They have courses starting all year round too, so no waiting for a new academic year to start. Delaney, as you are in Aldershot does Farnborough College do anything? If not there are courses at the Raworth Centre in Dorking and also a couple in Guildford so not too far for you to go. If you look on the Association of Reflexogists and ITEC websites you'll find names of training centres local to you, that's a good start.

Be careful. You need to do so many hours of tuition to get a good qualification and if you are doing 64 plus case studies you need the time. Why rush? It is so enjoyable anyway, make the most of every minute, it will go by in a flash.

I agree with Candie and Siobhan; the courses are quite long because there is so much stuff to get through. I trained with the IIR - the course was held on weekends and lasted a year. We had to do 100 hours of case studies - it's the case studies and the revision which takes the time. I used to be a nurse and I have to say, I found the work load for the reflexology course just as heavy as the nursing course. As Candie says, don't rush it - you want to be a good therapist don't you?
