Interstitial cystitis any info

Hi folks

I've got a 20 year old female client with this awful complaint. She has felt an improvement with reflex' but wondered if any of you have any experience of this.

Prevention is helping a lot too (e coli caused it), ie peeing after lovemaking, extra cleansing after loo. But the poor girl is really depressed about it after reading articles on the net.

Any thoughts very welcome.

My mum had this very badly a few years ago. She was losing loads of blood - it was awful. The doctors were questioning whether it was something entirely more serious and sinister.

It turned out that the Interstitial cystitis was a side effect of a widely used anti-arthritis drug - I can't recall the name right away but I can find out for you.

The drug was stopped and my mum got better almost instantly. Before that she was having to be admitted for regular bladder washouts under general anaesthetic.

Check your clients' medication.
