Introduce kitten with 9month old collie?

I have a 9 month old male welsh collie who seems to love watching chickens and my rabbits and even up close seems to be fine!! my hamster however he seems to have a different look about him and had snapped several times! My dads GF is getting a female kitten that I have chosen as it seems more docile how do I introduce it to my dog?

Start by keeping the kitten in a separate room for about a week. Use a blanket the kitten has slept on and let the dog sniff it, leave it out for him to inspect. Give the kitten something that has your dog's scent on it as well. Start by introducing them with a gate or screen between them and see how that goes. You may have to keep the kitten in it's own room and continue to do the above. If the dog simply wants to harm the kitten, than its in the cats best interest not to adopt it.
