What you want to start with is Airplane's "Surrealistic Pillow" album.. It has such classics as White Rabbit and Plastic Fantastic Lover. This album is the epitome of the Airplane years.
It also includes "Coming Back to Me"


If you move on to Jefferson Starship, then I would recommend "Red Octopus". Another absolutely classic album.

I used to listen to them alot, I don't now. I'd recommend Surrealistic Pillow and After Bathing at Baxter's as they're my favourite albums from them. As for songs try White Rabbit, Somebody to Love, Come Up The Years and Volunteers.
