Introducing 2 new cat friendly cats?

I am looking to adopt 2 male adult cats. One is 6, the other is a bit over a year. According to their fosters they are both cat friendly. Since neither of them has any claim to the house, are both coming from multi-cat houses, and both like other cats, will the usual policy of keeping them separated for a few days apply? I know that these things vary depending on each cat and situation. If anyone has had any experience with this type of introduction, please advise! Thanks!

Since they are coming to a new home, I'd advise keeping them separate for a few days so they can adapt to their new home. After you think they are ready, put them both in a room they have both already been in. Keep a close eye on them. If they get along, leave them be. If they start attacking one another, seclude them from each other for another day. Try again the next day. I'd advise to keep this up until they are used to being around each other, and then you don't have to worry about them.

Since they're coming into a new home they will still be a bit hissy to start. Introduce them slowly, only when you're their to referee. You'll be able to see pretty soon if they're ok or need a slow introduction.

I had 4 cats and on Tues I adopted a 1 yr old. I know my other cats well, so I knew which cats would be ok with her and which I had to keep separate for a while.

Get a spray bottle, when they start to get too rough squirt them. I like to snap my fingers when they start to hiss -partly to distract them and partly so they know I'm the boss and they can't do that.

What I would do first is put the two cats together in a room and see how they interact with each other. If they seem fine keep them together, but keep a close watch on them to make sure there is so fighting to gain top male. Male cats will also try to dominate each other to see who will be "top cat." If they immedietly start fighting let them do that for a while before you seperate them (be sure to not get scratched or hurt). Then once in a while put them together in a room, and let them ajust to each other. Hope this helped
