I have a female guinea pig whose buddy died last year. Honestly, she didn't seem too distressed over it, so I've been putting off getting her another cage mate until now.
I'm waiting for a baby texel (SO excited), and she'll be ready to pick up in a couple months. What should I do to make introducing the baby to my current guinea pig easier on both of them? I'm planning on keeping them in separate cages for the first couple of weeks and taking them out for playtime every day until they're used to each other, then letting them stay in the same cage. Is there anything else I should do? Is that a bad plan? Thanks in advance for any answers!
BQ: Just for fun, any suggestions on names?
