I just bought a 4 month of dumbo rat who is female today from a pet store, she was by herself and they didn't have any other rats, so i was wondering how and if I should get another female rat in the next couple of days to be her cage mate. Thank you

yes, get her a friend, she will love you for it, get it as soon as possible, the sooner the better, they need a nice level cage with lots of toys, hides and beds, to introduce put them both in an empty bath and have water ready in case of fight, i have introduced my 10 rats and had not 1 fight

, they need chew fruit branches for their teeth tooUsually you want a rat that came in the same cage (or grew up together) but 4 months sounds fine and they're both female (which is good, they get along better) so I say it's okay to get her a cage-mate as long as you watch them and see if they get along, which they probably will.
