Introducing a new guinea pig to and older one?

I am trying to introduce a new baby guinea pig to my older piggy.
However they don't seem to be getting along. They are both male.
I have introduced them slowly on the floor and I have attempted to put them in the same cage for a bit (supervised). Seems the older Guinea is dominating the situation. Keeps shoving the baby back into the little igloo and wont let him come out.
Any ideas? They are in separate cages now but I would really like to eventually get them together!

it might be difficult because of the age difference, which may cause the older one to dominate. maybe like a father. you could separate the cage in half for a while so they can sniff and see each other through the divider. and eventually you could try again to introduce them. but keep trying! i hope it works!

It's really hard to get two male guinea pigs to get along (unless they grow up together). If they continue to not get along, there is not really anyway to force them to get along

Well, usually to genders put together fight like that, so I would say get a female for each and keep in the same cage, and see what happens, or if that doesn't work just keep the males in separate cages, with each having a female with them.

Get them BOTH neutered. Neutered male guinea pigs can get along quite nicely, but intact males usually do not get along with each other and will often fight and inflict injuries on each other. Please, for the health and safety of your guinea pigs, do not attempt to introduce them until after they have both been neutered and have had a few weeks for some of the hormones to wear off. Then you need to try introducing them in a neutral place, somewhere that neither of them has spend enough time to establish a "territory."

ok take it slow
don't rush it since they aren't used to eachother..
put both cages near eactother so they can smell eachtother scent and get used to it
after a week or so
put them in the same cage and watch to see if they fight..
everyday when you play with them take both out and see how
they react to eachother

try having supervised play dates on the ground. do this often to let them get used to each other. eventually, they will be great pals. half of my piggies were the same way to each other if the were not introduced at a young age. nothing to worry about. hope it helps.

You have to take it slowly. Once or twice a day, put them together out of the cage to get acquainted. This won't happen in one day. Try doing this until they get along. Right after you change to older one's bedding, try putting the younger one in. The the older one's scent won't be everywhere. You can put them in a bin together and see if they fight. It might take a few weeks to get the older one to accept the younger ones presents.
