Introducing a new puppy to an old dog?

I have a 8 year old blue heeler mix that ive had since she was a puppy.She has been the only dog in the house but we do have a 4 year old cat that she ignores.My dog has never been to social with other dogs and our family is getting a new blue heeler pup because we love the breed so much.Basically I was wondering how she would react and what is a good strategy to introduce her to the new pup

Bring her in slowly and let him sniff her. He may react well due to the fact their the same breed and he probably won't be rough with her since he ignores the cat.

your old dog might feel jealous, but u have to let them get used to eachother and let them play around, but your old dog might attack your new dog.

put one in cage let other walk around ..... it takes time
