Introducing male dwarf hamsters? (Breeders, please?)?

I just adopted/agreed to foster a very young male dwarf hamster from local Humane Society, where I volunteer when they have rodents. He's a bit too young to be separated from the mother and they didn't know how to care for him so they asked me to. He is very, very skittish. He'll bat at fingers if they get within four inches, he'll bite if you grab him. He's calmed down now and I am going to socialize him starting day after tomorrow.

Here's the questions!
I have a senior-aged male who is very friendly, well socialized, and has the gentlest demeanor of any I've ever had. I think that if I put them together, because the pup is so young, that he would feel more welcomed in the environment and relax. He DID come from a large litter---9 other babies.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about this? I have introduced + bred hamsters before, but he's just so tiny and my senior is so large, I won't risk sticking them together unless I am positive they will get along. I'm going to get my carrier w/ the divider and see how that works. I just want to be very cautious. I'd appreciate a more experienced breeder giving me tips!

PLEASE nobody tell me not to put them together. I know what I am doing, I've done it before. As I said I just want some outer advice. Thank you.
