Hi,
I recently got an 8 week old rat (now about 10 weeks) for my fist rat that I've had for 2 months now (She's about 4 months).
We've gone through all the stages (cages next to eachother, switching cages, etc) and now at the bath tub meeting stage.
The first time wen okay. They both were just checking eachother out and smelling, etc. We made it short so they didn't get worked up about it.
The next time, there was lots of "flipping" eachother. One would flip and pin one, then the one pinned would get up and flip the one who was the flipper last time.
Today we tried again and it was the same thing. Neither one wants to be the submissive one!
There's been no aggression or fighting really at all...just the constant flipping. However, my newest one (Tallulah) kept stealing food away from my oldest (Ellie).
We don't know if we should just keep trying, or do something different.
I'll really appreciate it f u have any advice whatsoever!
Thank you!!!!!
Jillian, Ellie, & Tallulah
