Introducing two cats to eachother.?

We got a kitten a few months ago. She is now around 6 months, and has the sweetest disposition of all time. However, she is really hyper. We decided to get her another cat, because we are constantly working and she doesn't need to be alone that much. New cat is maybe 3 months old. Both are female.

How can we get them to get along? Our first cat won't stop hissing and spitting, and the new one doesn't seem to care much. We can't lock them in other rooms to learn eachother scent because we have a very small house, with only the bathroom having a door. Any suggestions?

it will take over 2 weeks sometimes for them to get comfortable with eachother. I like using a carrier to introduce them, but not for a long period of time. Only the kitten should be put in the carrier though.

you can put one in the bathroom. when we got our kitten we had to introduce her to my full grown lab and we put the kitten in the bathroom for a few days and we would switch their bedding so they could get the other ones scent. we then introduced them and it made it easier.
