Introducing two rabbits?

I have a 2 year old female rabbit who is also fixed. She is very loving and loves to be snuggled. She's also kinda spoild. Well im getting a new bunny tomorrow night. She is also a female and is a baby. I was wondering how to best introduce them? I read that female rabbits can sometimes fight. I do plan on getting my new rabbit fixed too. But not until she's 1. How can I help them bond? How can I best introduce them?

I would introduce them in separate cages relatively close to each other. Yes, some female rabbits can be very suspicious of each other and want to fight. If the cage is close to the other and the 2 start to growl at each other, simply move the cage a little bit farther away. But your best bet would be to put them in the same room together (openly) and let them run around and see how the 2 react to each other. Hope this helps you out!

Your older rabbit will be the dominant rabbit in this situation, as it is her turf. What is best is to have your new rabbit in a seperate cage for te first few days/weeks, position the cages next to eachother. Each day switch their bedding to the other rabbits cage, this way they are both getting the foreign scent of the other rabbit in their cage. They should be able to see eachother too through the safety of the cages. Try letting them both out of the cages in a place neither of them have been in before, this is so they are on mutual ground and nobody 'owns it'. There may still be fighting but it will be less sevre. Under no circumstances should you put one rabbit in with the otherone in a cage she has owned for a while, as they consider this intrusion and will attack to kill the intruder, and the intruder will have no way of escape. Alternately, instead of swapping the bedding each day, swap the rabbits, this will save you having to touch all the bedding. hope that helps x

For the first day get stuff that smells like the new bunny and let your bunny smell it, also let the new bunny settle down. A few days put their cages next to each other (separate cages) and let them sniff each other, the biggest mistake you can make is rushing this. If they seem ok next to each other then they can have a CONTROLLED meeting, they may fight and this is normal (maybe for the whole day), what isn't normal is very aggressive fighting and blood shows up. There will be some hair pulling and sometimes the more dominant one humps the other, this is normal even if both are female.
