Is acupuncture treatment effective for depression?

How effective is the acupuncture treatment for depression? I have been taking antidepressant medicines for the past few years. I still am under depression. There is no change in my condition. At times I feel like my depression has increased.
It's been months since I have got a good sleep. Almost all day I took sleeping pills to have a good sleep. One of my aunts suggested undergoing acupuncture treatment in Toronto. She said one of her colleagues has undergone this treatment and has got a relief. I don't know if this treatment will help me or not but I'm planning to give it a shot. Is there anything one should know before undergoing this treatment? I would like to know if anyone here with depression has undergone this treatment and how effective was it for you. Thanks!!

Yes, it definitely is, but when performed correctly. Do not do it on yourself, search for a pro.

You can treat it on your own. There is two ways of doing it. One is eating a raw diet meaning mostly raw fruits and vegetables. You should try cutting out meat.
The other method is fasting. If you're diabetic you will need to try supervised. You can try either the daily fasting 16 hours with 8 hour eating window or trying once a week or twice a week fast

Acupuncture is mostly useless for everything. Meditation, exercise, and therapy are best. My sister is depressed and medication didn't help her much, but CBT and eventually meditation and regular exercise has improved her situation drastically.

Yep, you should try therapy, exercise a lot. as for diet, i don't really believe that starving yourself would help much....
