i do understand licensing and insurance and all, but to assume that someone who did not go to a formal school could not know about anatomy, muscles and how to massage without doing damage is really societal brainwashing. :/

No! actually that is very illegal in some states of course, their was a case that I saw were a lady was not certified and she screwed up the other lady's back because she thought she knew what she was doing! if you don't have a license or did not go to school to get certified, you should not be doing it,you are taking a big risk, you did not study peoples backs why would you even try to do such a thing, you don't know how they will react to the message! everybody's back is different and one little thing you do wrong while messaging, it can cost them injury and as for yourself you can be sued or serve jail time maybe even probation! peoples back is something that is really serious. If you don't know how the spinal works and the points or locations, you should not be conducting it to people unless you have a degree and you are certified!
that is a piece of advice from me to you!
