Is it possible to earn a physical therapy degree while running a massage practice?

I began a massage practice almost two years ago. I own this business. I have recently become interested in getting a degree in physical therapy. I do not however want to quit building my business as a massage therapist. I wonder if I can do both at the same time, or if maybe there are slow steps I could take in the mean time so that later on it would be easier to pursue this type of degree.
I am under the impression that in some fields such as nursing, you have to go through the schooling very fast without taking a break from it and do full loads of course work. If what you say is true that i can persue this type of degree slowly then it probably is a great idea for me.

You probably need to complete all the undergraduate education first. MTs have a much different requirement for education. You'll need to first earn a BS degree and take the prerequisite courses. During this time, certainly it may be possible to continue to run your business. However, consider that it may take much longer to complete your undergraduate education.

However, once you are in the PT program...it is VERY rigerous...count on 3 years of it being full time work....not including your study time. There is really very little time for any work, let along running a business.

you probably have some pre-reqs already done since you are a massage therapist...i would go for it. you can just slowly work up to becoming one and still continue to be a massage therapist and then once you actually become a PT then you can decide how much time you want to devote to it. good luck
