DNA to be re-introduced? If you know a species is going to die out, that it's inevitable, could the species' DNA be sequenced/blueprinted/preserved so that it could be re-introduced to the wild in greater numbers?
Example: Could Bison(aka buffalo) DNA be introduced into cows causing cows to give birth to bison(not all cows of course) re-populating the species? I know they aren't endangered anymore, just an example... maybe birds laying eggs that contain endangered species? Something like that?
I've never taken biology but I'm curious if it can be done.
