Is it really proper to introduce your child to the filth within the bible?

so i was at my buddies house the other day watching this movie, and this lady with belly showing said some fowl language and his mom made us turn it off because she said it inaporiate for children... but like 30 min later she asking him about his bible studies because these folks really into this, and they talking about people being tortured and burned and people having sex with their servants and im thinking this starting to sound like some x rated stuff that maybe im i can get interested in

anyway, you think it really proper to introduce this smut reading to young children? the book real filthy.

It's an awful book, you're right!

I grew up with this book, and didn't even bat an eyelid till I was older about what happened in it. Even when I read it during my de-conversion, it wasn't until a minor point did I *really*question it.

Once I read it from another point of view though, all of this became obvious and rather disturbing.

No, it's not appropriate for kids.

@annie he isnt sayin whats on the tv is right he's dayin why is it right for a kid not to see less foul things on tv, but its ok for him to learn more graphic and disturbin things in a holy book. the answer is fuck no

Young children generally have children's Bibles. And are taught the basics of the Bible.

The Bible is an account of real life. Real life tends to have an ugly side. Have you read Yahoo news tonight? Ugly stuff.
The key is to read about the filth but to get past it. That is when you really start to understand what the Bible is telling you. You must study the Bible not just read it through once or twice.

Where in the Bible is there anything about people being tortured? Having sex with their servants? Your copy has that sort of verbiage? Really?
