Is it strange if Mormon missionaries visit you and end up giving you a massage?

Two Mormon missionaries knocked on my door today and they were seemingly pleasant, smiling young men around 19 years old, who introduced themselves as "elder," even though I'm 10 years older than they are. I reluctantly let them in and they started off with some small talk to break the ice. I indicate that I've had a long, exhausting day, hoping that this sends a message that I would prefer their visit to be short. But instead, one of the guys comes up behind me and starts massaging my neck and shoulders, noting all the while that he can feel that I'm tense. He massaged me for almost 5 minutes and I'll admit that it felt good, but I kept thinking: isn't this a bit strange? Is it normal for Mormon missionaries to go to your home and give you a back rub? Is this how they try to become more familiar, friendly and eventually get you to join their church?

This, I might say, is a little strange. More strange if you were a woman. However, the Elder who messaged you could have been going to school to be a masseuse, or had just taken a class and was willing to releive your tension. All this strangeness could have been by-passed had you been honest and said you weren't interested in hearing their message.

Oh, by the way, Elder is not a form of age/wisdom recognition, it is merely a title, like Mr.

It's not odd, they'll do anything within reason to gain your favor and get you to join a church that believes
A) All black and American Indian people will become caucasian is they convert to mormon
B) American Indians are direct descendants of the lost tribes of israel.
