Is recent economic slowdown (housing and stock market losses) affecting your hobby?

Just wondering given the steep losses incurred by people in housing and stock markets as well as the upcoming layoffs/recession fears, are you folks cutting back on your hobby frequency/tips?

I've been cutting back from 3 times a week to once a week and no over tipping anymore.

The fact that you were even regularly doing 3 times a week says a lot about your financial situation.

Me personally, situation hasn't effected anything just yet only because a couple months ago I got a severance cheque that I wasn't expecting (job I worked pre covid lockdown 2 years ago) which has that has been working very nice for me. Although I only go to spas once a week, sometimes not even once a week anyway.

If I was going 3 times a week I would definitely be cutting back. I only go once a week so I have not cut back.

Hobbying once a week, sometimes twice if I see someone I really want to try outside of my regular. I am in a pretty good financial situation and earn above average income so no change for me but I can definitely see it impacting the average person soon.

People who locked into a low mortgage rate a year ago at 1.5% for 5 years are very lucky. If one were to get a mortgage today, it could mean a difference of $500 monthly or more on an average house. That's a big difference. And it's hard to find a low to average price new car, when auto makers are allocating their low supply of semi conductor chips to more profitable high price vehicles. Low inventory on average price vehicles are forcing people to spend more than they want, if they need a new vehicle right away. We're not officially in a recession yet, but if things don't start changing soon, we will be. But a recession will eventually drop prices even further on gasoline. But don't hold your breath just yet. The current hurricanes will cause a spike in gasoline prices, at least temporarily. And I'm not talking about the hockey team.

As for me, I don't have much money but I don't care much, business as usual, 3-4 times a week. I don't have many years left in my life and I can't take money with me when I die. I am enjoying my life as much as I can. We all have expiry dates, just don't know when. Live happy, die happy.

From what I have seen a lot of guys are cutting down due to the increase in prices and decrease in quality of service and the constant pandering for tips that some mpas have been doing. Next year might be interesting.

I used to go about once every other month, if I was lucky. But now? No chance. I just got a property tax bill that I won't be paying anytime soon because I can't. I won't be hobbying again for months. And if I do, it'll be totally irresponsible of me.

The guys that were living within a means of a budget for hobbying definitely cut back but as stated above the lack of quality and increase in prices deterred the occasional hobbyist from going as often as they did. For guys that go once or twice a week the change in the economy hasn't shifted their spending too much, we always had excess liquidity to spend as we please. But for penny pinchers like the bulk of this forum, it's definitely going to sway them to do more research and wait around for better talent. Not like it really changes anything for them though, those are the same moochers that ask non stop for others to TOFTT instead of going themselves.

High inflation, raising interest rate and falling stock markets do not support our entertaining budget. I observe that spas, legit or fun ones, are all slow down one way or the other. Top MPA are affected less, although in a bad day, everyone got hit. Some spas got affected more obvious after hiking prices. I still hobby as usual, not that I am rich but I don't spend much on car, drinks, eat out and other stuff. I also take the attitude that I may as well spend the money myself while I can.

Hobbying same as before. Recession or not, I've always used "extra" funds for this hobby. Fortunate that my essentials are covered off, and I dont spend on other costly hobbies like cars, watches, gambling etc. It's just really this for me, so what is leftover from essentials then goes to this.

I agree with you. For one, I find that the providers quality have gone way down which I’ve mentioned before. And the non-sense VIP, Super VIP, Ultra VIP bullshit. If the price tag reflects the quality and service of the sp sure. But majority are the over inflated confident Botox filled whale that called themselves vip which drove the prices of prettier girls higher. Imagine if you can raise your own hourly rate because some dumb coworker of your are getting paid more than you?
