I'm sure Scorp has MyPHPAdmin installed on his server, it allows you to run basic SQL queries through a web page.

If I wanted to look at all the IMs I'd just do something like SELECT ' * ' FROM ims WHERE 1

Not that I ever do anything like that, but running a board you really have to be a honorable person and respect others privacy. But for sure if the security isn't tight enough someone could read everything. If a board operator claims ignorance they are open to attack or just playing dumb.
