About 6 months ago I was in bed, sleeping on my back, I woke up and made a move to turn onto my right side and experienced an excruciating pain in my lower back (left side) as I trid to lift my left hip off the mattress to turn. That was the start of 6 months of pain, problems walking and general discomfort sitting & sleeping. I was prescribed anti-imflammatory tablets and had an X-ray which was normal . I had reflexology and Bowen all to no avail.
I returned to see my doctor last week for the X-ray results and he suggested that maybe a steroid injection would sort out the inflammation he believed was causing the pain. He asked me to 'pop on the couch', so I stood with my back to the couch, raised my right hip to lift my bottom onto the couch and "CLICK!". Soemthing shifted in my back and made the loudest click I'd ever heard! The doctor couldn't give me the injection as he was out of local anaesthetic so he asked if I could return this week. As I walked out of the surgery I suddenly realised that I was not feeling any pain! Obviously the threat of a large needle entering the area had scared my back into submission!!
I have no idea what the problem was or why it righted itself, I'm just so glad it did.
