It's back again!

Hello all, I'm new to the forum. I'm 38 years old and I had a microdiscectomy two years ago on L4/5. Recovered pretty well apart from still getting some shooting pain sensations in legs and feet from time to time. I also get a clicking in my lower back which is loud enough to be audible to others close to me. I went back to playing football etc with little problems other than I found that my legs are much weaker than they used to be! I also train regularly at the gym.

Just recently I have begun to have sciatica again. I have tried to continue pretty much as normal but there have been a few occasions now where I have started to move and literally legs collapsed beneath me with the pain from lower back. Very similar symptoms to what I had prior to discectomy. I keep getting cramps too in the back of my calves.

When I had my MRI scan for the opertion a couple of years ago they mentioned that one or two of the other discs looked a little dodgy too but they may never cause me a problem.

What I am wondering is, are the dodgy discs causing me a problem now or is it the same one? Does anybody have any experience of repeat problems after surgery or does anybody know how often disc problems recur after surgery?
