The owner of a Jersey City massage parlor was accused of propositioning an undercover officer and then arrested on prostitution charges, authorities said.

Elizabeth K. Golden, 50, owns Gold Sakura Spa on Newark Avenue. On Tuesday she was arrested after the officer negotiated to "exchange money for a sexual act," according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

The spa was closed down due to health code violations, which included open containers of alcohol, the prosecutor's office stated.

Golden, who also lives at the location of the spa, was the only employee charged, according to the prosecutor's office.

She is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 23.
