Dear Emsie,
I finish my course in the next 3 weeks. I have decided to go the corporate way - sell IHM and try to get the company to pay me per hours to offer this to their staff over lunchtime (12 to 2) - think if I can get 3 or 4 clients in a week I will be happy.
Busy doing business cards, list with pro's etc to start selling this service. Suppose I am lucky as I worked in a big business park 5 minutes away from home and know quite a few of the directors in different companies. I will thus be selling this to people I know and who know me (as a professional, reliable, trustworthy person), and hopefully this will work.
Quite a few salons rent out therapy rooms per hour - so if you have some clients so that you can fill up a few hours right away the room should pay for itself. If you go through some old threads you will get all sorts of advise and ideas about advertising, how to start, how much to charge etc.
I (personally) do not think home visits are such a good idea unless they are people who are known to you.If you don't know the person and their home situation/issues etc. so you could end up trying to give a treatment with 6 kids and 5 dogs running around in a not so clean environment where you could feel uncomfortable (giving worst case scenarios here!!!). As there are some very strange people around in this world of our I think you need to be careful.
Same goes for doing treatments from your own home, inviting strangers into your comfort zone.
Hope this gives you a bit to think about. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Regards,
Jo
