Kata bars

Guys - i have already searched the forum and did not find too many useful threads, so posting again on this topic. Are there any good bars to hang out in Kata. Few women i met in Safari last time were from Kata bars and they all looked fine and very friendly, so i thought of exploring when i visit phuket next month.

Kata has a bar area just off the beach road. Down the hill past Starbucks –heading south. (2nd road on left) They start there and go up about 100 metres. Also in Karon going the other way (north on Beach road) just past the stadium on the east side there is a couple of bar sois. You can walk between these two in about 15 minutes.

I do plug this bar (admin,feel free to delete if unappropriate),but go and see scouse Jon in Solution Bar Kata,coming from karon,go past all the girly bars in Kata before you get to club med, take your first left,Jon's situated about 150 metres on the left hand side sandwiched inbetween the outdoor restaraunt and the new indian.

Lounge bar enviroment with great tunes,2 big plasmas showing sports, and some good lookers,no pressure whatsoever from the girls as they know John keeps a good eye on them.

I enjoy the place as it's hassle free,and very relaxed,never been ripped off for anything.Spoke to Jon when he was back in the UK recently and i belive he has plans to get a pool table in for the high season,i'm lookin' forward to seeing him and his missus Jib when i return in feb.

Hows the takeout pricing in the Kata bars

Hagler-last time i was in kata,the bar fine was usually 200/300 baht,i took girls from a few places including Solution,and can't remember paying more than 300 baht.

Short time was around 1000 baht,overnight 1500/2000 baht.John has rooms for rent above the bar,and one of these was being used for shortime,ie room/girl/barfine all in for a set price,can't comment on how much,as i was staying in a nearby hotel.

These prices may well have changed,but should be around the same i would have thought.Try and negociate a price with the girl before leaving with her,so you know where you stand.

kata in good for chilling out not drinking during the week (well thats what i used it for)

There is a great little bar down the soi on the right hand side that leads to melisa resort Its a very layed back great food and very clean some nice girls working there also.

Happy,is that the bar that has the thai midget lady working there? if it is ,thats top bar, good fun nice staff and free pool.
