Kata Beach!!

hey all, I've booked 2 weeks in Sugar Palm Kata beach..so what kind of activity should I expect in there, or should I hit it to Patong every night!!

Stayed there a few months ago, your activities will be outside that particular so called hotel. Sorry, staff unfriendly and rooms/facilities basic to say the least.

On the REALLY plus side, plenty of action in Kata within easy walking distance and some quite nice totty too. Prices tend to be lower than Patong, even for the beer es:

theres a scottish lad who posts lots of vids on youtube all about Kata he goes 2/3 times a year check that out, was supposed to meet up in April but he refuses to leave Kata....ill see if i can get his details and pm you he raved about the girls/bars and beach etc

I was there again today...becoming a habit.
Its a seriously lovely beach with water quality far better than Patong Beach (where I now live!!) and the surf on the southern end very good.
Going into Tong every night will be a pain (and coming home even bigger pain)...theres a lot of little bars that are quiet now but has tidy ladies, you will be a bigger hit as a "Cut OMA" ( customer) now its quiet season , geez, you'll be more"Hansum" than you ever imagined.

I swear i mus be the worst tourist on earth. Isnt Kata beach just south of Patong? I went there via taxi and i saw nothing. Zilch. There was an ice cream shop or something on the left. And yes ... some T shirt stores ... and yes some amazing beaches .... but night life and fun? Enough to not even go to patong? Where is that exactly?

Thats Karon.. And theres some OK bars back from the circle o south end of the beach in the bar soi.. But Kata is next one along, where theres a strip of bars, the Kata boxing ring area an bars off that.. Plus some little hidden ones dotted about like back at the traffic lights.

as read and been told, i found that Kata is a quit pretty place where I can have fun, get some beers and enjoy my nightlife, but not like Patong's wild nights thou..
