Hi There,
Here's the thing. We ALL know that keeping in touch with all our clients is a great idea, right? We ALL know it generates more referrals and repeat clients. But it's also a huge pain in the...um..."neck". That's why nobody does it!
Let's look at the options. Postcards and newsletters take up a lot of time, money, and hassle. Phone calls are even worse on time-consumption, and impossible to organize. If you've ever tried doing any of these, you know at some point you end up looking like this:
So what are your options?
In my opinion (as someone who's been doing conscious marketing for the past 8 years), the *ONLY* way you should keep in touch with your clients is through personalized email. Period. End of story.
Let me tell you a little story:
There's a great massage therapist named April Ann who lives in Charlotte, NC. Smart girl. Trying her best to build her practice. So when I met her, I told her to use a personalized email system.
"A what?" she said. "A personalized email system," I told her.
Sounds fancy and complicated, right? It ain't. In fact, it's 100 times easier than sending out postcards every month. And a LOT more effective at generating new appointments.
Anyway, April Ann did what I recommended. It took her maybe an hour or two to set the whole thing up. And in her very first month of using it, she generated 4 new appointments. These are people who ONLY called her specifically because of the personalized email they got from her.
Pretty cool, huh? I thought so. Especially since I built the email system she used! (yes, that's a shameless plug).
Now here's the best part: since she's using the system I built just for bodyworkers, April will stay in touch with ALL her clients, month after month, for YEARS - without even lifting a finger. That's the real power of a personalized email system - it does all the work for you. Even while you sleep. I know this sounds kind of like a cheezy informercial, but I swear to God it's 100% true.
So here are your options if you want to get yourself a personalized email system:
1) Time Consuming and Difficult, but Super-Cheap:
If you have the extra time and technical expertise, and you want to save a few bucks, you can use a company called Constant Contact (http://www.constantcontact.com). They're the best email system on the market for people who know a LOT about the Internet. And it's only $15/month.
2) Super Easy, Quick, and Pretty Cheap:
If you want to just spend an hour or two total, and then automatically keep in touch with all your clients for the next 4 years, you should use the system I've built just for bodyworkers. You can see how it works at http://www.ZingMT.com/service_keepintouch.htm And it's cheap enough where if you generate just ONE appointment per month, it more than pays for itself.
Whatever you decide, I can promise you that this is the *only* way to keep in touch with everyone. I've got dozens of massage therapist clients from California to North Carolina using it. And it works. Plain and simple.
So if you're out to grow your practice, this is the best way to spend a few bucks and a couple hours. Your practice - and your sanity - will thank you for it!

Zac
