Khao San Road

Hey guys,

I've been to Thailand (phuket) before but never to Bangkok. I've done a bit of research on the internet and it seems everyone says Khao San Road is the place to be.

Is Khao San Road similar to bangla Road in phuket, in regards to the atmosphere ? (ie. big presence of prostitutes) or is it similar to phi phi island? (hardly any prostitutes)

I was dissapointed when I visisted Khao San. It's got a few decent bars and lots of people selling shit. Bangla >>>>>> Khao San. If you're looking for P4P in Bangkok, go to Soi Cowboy, Nana or Patpong. I liked Soi Cowboy, it has a lot of good go go's

If your new to Thailand its a great way to ease into the street market sensibilities but if you've been to HKT then you can skip Khoa San.

That being said Taxis in BKK are so cheap you can head over, have a beer and add it to your LOS experience. Round trip from the Financial Center was less than a one way ride down beach road in Patong (damn patong Tuk Tuks!).

When I go back to LOS I doubt I'll go there... unless I'm itching to meet a falang girl. Saw at least 4 attractive single women in the 4 hours I was there.

been twice full of hippies...shops selling bongs and weird stuff...like the bm's say its nothing special imho....lasted 30 minutes first time and 1 hour last time and that was because tg as always was hungry....check it out you may like it...I for one just dont get why people like it or even bother...unless you have a very tight budget

Ladyboy spotting on Khao San was another entertaining game, had to shout 'Jeff' and point and then have a group vote........you had to be there!!

On the whole, Khao San is rubbish, although years ago Gulliver's was the only place i could get a shepherd's Pie!
