Kidney removed

Hi all,
Just a quick question on Reflexology.If someone has a kidney removed and I presume the adrenal, but the brain does not know,would stimulating here still bring about the desired result

Even though a kidney has been removed from the physical body, I believe that it still remains in the auric body so I would still work the kidney/adrenal reflex. I hadn't really thought about this concept until a fellow therapist mentioned she had had a hysterectomy but she still wanted the uterus reflex stimulated during the treatment as her body still has a memory of it being present and was still present in her auric body.

Your client still has one kidney left and as cross reflexes occur, I would still work both kidney reflexes.

What is the desired result you are looking for? For the brain to become aware that the kidney has been removed? Or to help the remaining kidney function?

Anti inflammatory,increase in energy levels[carbohydrate metabolism] and stress.,along with general and other related areas of course.I was also wondering,as I have advised her to increase her water intake,is she putting her remaining kidney under pressure,perhaps more water but not the 6 to 8 glasses daily that i usually advise.

Did your client also have the adrenal gland removed? It is possible to have a kidney removed without the adrenal gland! A simple procedure involves just the removal of the kidney and a radical procedure involves the removal of the kidney, adrenal glands, and surrounding lymph nodes and fatty tissue (this depends on the reason why the kidney is being removed). I'd ask them for more information on the procedure.

I think it would have the desired affect. I'd also work hypothalamus and pituitary as these secrete hormones which regulate the adrenal cortex. The medula is regulated by the sympathetic nervous system - perhaps work the spine. I'd also work the thyroid gland.

I do the entire endocrine system, my client does not know if the adrenal was removed,perhaps I was assuming[dangerous],and I will ask why it was removed on next visit,I actually thought I was good at the open questioning,thanks alot.,I see now why we have to really keep on top of the information the client gives us.

Just to expand on the auric body, the meridians connected to that kidney are also still present so I'd say definitely work that reflex.

Just re-read your post about the amount of water to advise her to drink after a treatment. I'm not sure what I would recommend in that situation. Has she said whether she can only drink a certain amount? I think fluid intake is restricted in the early days after a kidney being removed but I don't know whether or not this is an ongoing thing or not. I know it is restricted when people are on dialysis. Is she taking any water tablets?

Oh Im so bad,she had kidney removed over 30 years ago,she said she has no problem drinking water but would not drink 6 to 8 glasses daily.No water tablets but on 5 antidepressants and a sleeping tablet with 3 years.
