VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Vancouver Police say the city's latest homicide appears to be connected to the sex trade. Constable Tim Fanning says the VPD Vice Squad is now assisting with the investigation into the death of 33 year old Nicole Parisien on Monday. Fanning says, "Suite 517 of 1450 Chesnut was being used as a massage parlour, and the suite was not registered as a massage parlour."
Until Parisien's death, police were unaware the suite was being used for that purpose, and they say no one actually lived in suite 517. Twenty-five year old Andrew William Evans of Vancouver faces second degree murder charges in connection with Parisien's death. He surrendered to Calgary Police earlier this week and was returned to Vancouver yesterday. Evans will be in court September 5th.
