Good luck, but don't get your hopes up. My understanding is that once the disc has bulged, it stays bulged; you won't repair the breakdown of the annular fibres. What you can do is allow a little more space in the IVF, allowing for the bulge and the nerve to co-exist happily enough; and to accomadate the nerve to the inflammation in the area; and the immune system to accept the the nucleus is benign and leave it alone.
The best form of treatment for this is (IMO) flexion distraction, as given by a chiropractor (I don't know, but I don't think osteopaths offer this), followed by SOT by either a chiropractor or an osteopath. If those 2 fail, then I'd recommend other spinal mobilisation techniques, or maybe even spinal manipulation. I would class the decompression you're talking about as A N Other spinal mobilisation technique.
