Lara Logan is hospitalized while recovering from an attack she suffered covering events in Egypt's Tahrir Square on February 11th, the day President Hosni Mubarek stepped down.
It reportedly happened during the celebration in the square in which some parts of the mob had been whipped into a frenzy
According to CBS, Logan became separated from her crew and was surrounded by a hostile group.
The statement goes on to say Logan suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers.
After reconnecting with her 60 Minutes crew, Logan flew out of Egypt the following day and was admitted to the hospital.
CBS says there will be no further comment at this time.
