I've been studying and giving massages casually (for no compensation) for years, and I'm told that I am better at it than professionals. Now, living in NY, I can't get a license for "massage therapy" without the proper training and whatnot. But what are the regulations, if any, for simply being a "masseur"? If I make no claims to therapy and never identify myself as a massage therapist, would it be lawful to practice massage for monetary compensation?
Who/where could I contact to find an answer to this question?
Thanks in advance!
