Learning Routine

Hey guys..

Help, i`m trying to learn my Reflexology routine and it`s a bit of a nightmare, any tips on how to learn it?

I`ve tried it on small cards with no luck....

Any advice would be good

I think rather than reading it, you need to use your hands. Even if you haven't got anyone's feet to practice on, try ghosting the routine. I used to do it every night before I went to sleep or if I had some spare time - even while on the treadmill at the gym!!

Practice is the only way, I'm afraid.

I had a card with the routine in a condensed form to start with but began to rely on it too much.

My tutor recommended that think of the systems of the body and work through it that way. I hid the card and followed her advice - I kept going back to the card to see where I'd gone wrong and kept doing it like that for about 6 pairs of feet and then, hey presto, it sunk in!

Can you record your own voice reading the sequence, and play it when you are doing a treatment Lindsay? at the school where I trained we got tapes of the sequence, and I found it helpful. I'm currently doing my documented practice for TouchPro chair massage and I have the routine on a CD. Works for me! It's the old practice, practice, practice thing, and it will definitely come although I sometimes thought I'd never memorise the reflexology sequence. Hang on in there!!

You will get there Lindsay but I know it's frustrating. Can you get together with someone from your course? One of you could be doing the treatment and the other could receive whilst prompting from the notes if necessary, then swapping. Don't worry, it will sink in. Just when you think you're never going to get the routine, suddenly it clicks!
