Was reading in the Sun today about the lady found dead in the gateway motel. Wasn’t she the “Do you know where Your husband is?” Provider Lyssa On LL?

The Edmonton journal and CBC article don’t mention she was a sex worker, the fact no investigation update or info has been provided to her family is concerning. Apparently she had poor reviews on CAF it would be terrible if the suspect was an “unsatisfied” client . Either way her family deserves answers, you’d think EPS would analyze in detail her smartphone and who communicated with her last

I look at the ads from time to time and would say this is indeed the provider in the ad.But I don’t think the cause of death has been released. Could be drugs, natural causes or something entirely different

They do say “Slain” in the headline

I’m gunna guess not a drug overdose, but I’m also not the sharpest brick in the pool.

Yes I just read the article. Slain is the word used by EPS. Sad but she also hung out with dubious characters if the article is to be reliable. But sad nonetheless

CBC news article states police have classified it as a homicide, and the motel called police to investigate a possible assault, it’s probably murder by blunt force trauma my guess, so sad

Wow, she lead a hard life with many issues. Very sad. This does highlight why we need a strong system of supports to care for people that struggle as she did, and a need to completely decriminalize sex work and bring it right out of the shadows. Not saying that the sex work part of her life killed her, but it certainly could have with her having people come to her location as she did. "Oh, but we did decriminalize sex work as it's no longer a crime to sell sex, just to buy it." What a fucking ridiculous law - it still means that sex workers operate outside of the law.

It would have been better for her had social workers and health care workers been intervening in her life instead of police, but police are the front line workers that deal with these issues.

I hope that they catch the killer, it might save more sex worker's lives.

I went on a number of Edmonton escort sites where her ad is still displayed and reported that she is deceased. Provided them with a link to the news story as well. Hate to see anyone in her family hurt anymore.

Actually one news outlet identified the motel as the Royal Lodge on Gateway Blvd.

Yeah apologies to Bob if this is the same murder. I drove up Gateway Blvd several weeks ago and saw a huge police presence at the Royal Motel Then several weeks later I see an article in the Edmonton Sun several weeks after naming the Gateway Motel
