A man accused of sexually assaulting, kidnapping and dumping a woman, naked, in downtown Naples will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The chilling incident in 2012 was so traumatic it led the victim to move out of state and on Friday morning her attacker was sentenced to a lifetime behind bars.
We were in the courtroom as a judge sentenced Raymond Izquierdo Jr.
Judge Lauren Brodie said the sentence would have to be one that would protect society from Izquierdo who is deemed a sexual predator.
She said in this case - nothing short of life would be appropriate.
In 2012, Izquierdo broke into a Naples massage parlor and held a woman at gunpoint - forcing her to perform sexual acts on him. Then he kidnapped her and dropped her off downtown, naked.
Much of this was caught on security video and while graphic - it helped the state build a strong case.
According to the state attorney the victim is still traumatized and afraid of men.
Steven Meresca of the state attorney's office: "We are very pleased that the court gave this defendant life. He will not be able to hurt or injure or create any kind of crimes against anybody in society anymore and we're very satisfied with that."
Izquierdo's attorneys declined a request for comment on Friday.
Izquierdo did at one point write the victim a letter of apology.
