POTSDAM — Lily Spa has opened in downtown offering massages and foot maintenance services.
The business, located at 75 Main St., is owned by Charlie Widmann and his girlfriend Yunyun “Lili” Li.
Li works with one other employee who is helping to get the business up and running.
Widmann said the goal is to have two employees work along side Li once business picks up.
He said they have had construction workers in who are looking to relieve foot pain.
A 30-minutes foot reflexology massage costs $40. They massage from the knee down, stretch the muscles and get out any knots.
“This is good for waitresses and for people who are on their feet all day,” Widmann said.
Massages are also offered in 60- and 90-minute intervals. More services include scraping maintenance to remove calluses, moxibustion maintenance which helps to stimulate circulation and a shower.
“The shower gets you clean before the massage…it definitely helps improve the massage,” he said.
For the shower, a client lays on a massage table face down and is sprayed with water and scrubbed from head to toe.
Hot stone massages are includes in a regular massage. Stones ranging in size are heated up and used with the hands to penetrate into muscles and bones.
Contractor Ron Page remodeled the building installing new carpet, walls, and a hot water heater.
“We put about $15,000 to $20,000 into it,” Widmann said.
They purchased massage tables, a foot massaging chair, and a washer and dryer.
The business was previously home to Shear Creations, which moved to Pleasant Street this past summer.
Lily Spa is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Customers can make an appointment or walk-in. The phone number is 261-2266.
Payment is cash only with the ability to pay with credit or debit to be added soon.
