Linking

Hi all,

I have just read the 'sequence' topic and wanted to ask a question.

What is linking? i am currently studying reflexology and have not heard about it before.

Hello Russ

I know SarahReflex and others here have been on a course to learning the linking techniques. Jan Williamson has written a book on the subject which you can buy from Amazon, Tao of Books, and so on. Prue Hughes founded the method and Jan has carried on her teachings. She runs courses in Devon. Linking means holding 2 or more reflex points together in various combinations to bring around healing. Some of the links are very powerful - there is one which links forebrain and sacrum and is great for calming very chatty or hyper clients. I am hoping to go on one of Jan's courses next year. If you look around on this page there has been a good thread on linking too.

I taught myself from Precision Refloxology and it is fantastic.

We have been lucky enough to have a lovely new therapist literally fall into our hands and I snapped her up today after she gave me a FANTASTIC reflexology treatment. She is just out of college but it is one of the best I have had.

She did linking at the end of the treatment and I felt like I floated off the couch.

It is well worth doing, it takes a bit of practice and you know when you are on the right points as you can 'feel' the energy. Basically if you don't feel anything you aren't in the right place so you just keep twiddling till you get there!

i agree, candie. i learnt from the book and it is a case of touch learning. i cant afford money or time to go on any of these courses now, as much as i might like to. i found the book very easy to follow and also the VRT, which has also shown good results.

i think clients like that you try to add to your skills and when they feel a difference, thats great for me.

Hi All,

'Linking' is another name for the technique of Synergistic Reflexology which is taught in VRT where up to three reflexes are held simultaneously for a few seconds. It can have very profound results - particularly with the reduction of back pain.
